Truman Child, Chief Executive Officer
Since launching American Liberty in 2004, Mr. Child has developed the business from a unique vision to a vibrant, growing workers' compensation insurance company serving Utah businesses.
Before starting American Liberty, Mr. Child was an Area Vice President for NovaCare Employee Services, a large national PEO. From 1998 to 2000, he oversaw all aspects of business, sales, customer service, risk management, human resources, and payroll, as well as benefits and workers compensation in NovaCare's Western Region. Prior to working with NovaCare, Truman was the founder and President of Pay America, Inc., a regional PEO. Pay America was acquired by NovaCare in 1997.
Mr. Child was also the co-founder and President of United Staffing of Utah. While with United from 1994 to 1995, he introduced the first master policy retrospective program to the Utah market with American International Group - AIG and later Fireman's Fund.
Mr. Child holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University and is fluent in Japanese.
Stephen Greenfield, President
Mr. Greenfield began his career in the insurance industry as an underwriter in 1977. Since then he has held positions of increasing responsibility at casualty insurance and risk management firms throughout the United States. His 28 years of experience demonstrate a focus on cultivating service-oriented underwriting teams and proactive relationships with brokers and agencies.
Mr. Greenfield's success with large and national accounts prepared him for a series of executive positions beginning at Lockton Risk Services (Kansas City) in 1988, where he served as Director of Underwriting. Mr. Greenfield later served as Division President at Credit General Insurance Company, First Vice President of Reliance Insurance Company (Manhattan) for a year, and President of Choice Risk Solutions (Cleveland) for three years.
As President of American Liberty, Stephen is committed to drawing on his management background and experience to enhance the value of the Company and its products for all clients and partner agencies. He eagerly accepts responsibility for endorsing and maintaining American Liberty as the preferred workers' compensation provider in Utah.
Cynthia Hatting, Senior Underwriter
Ms. Hatting brings nearly two decades of workers' compensation risk assessment and underwriting experience to our management team. She was senior underwriter for Sierra Insurance Group/California Indemnity from 1995 to 1999, responsible for underwriting the Colorado, New Mexico, and Kansas territories. Prior to that, Ms. Hatting worked as a senior underwriter/supervisor for Great States Insurance Company-FHP and as a workers' compensation specialist for Great American Insurance Co. in California. Throughout her career, Cynthia has shouldered significant responsibility for workers' compensation underwriting as a specialist in the field and a senior-level manager of other professional underwriters.
